"Let the welfare of the people be the supreme law."

The Office of the Ombudsman for Property Rights was created as a result of recommendations from the Missouri Task Force on Eminent Domain, formed to analyze Missouri's laws regarding the use of eminent domain and issue recommendations that better protect the rights of property owners when the use of eminent domain is being considered.

The Office of the Ombudsman for Property Rights is officially charged with documenting the use of eminent domain within our state and any issues associated with its use. The Office of the Ombudsman seeks to bring such "issues" to the attention of as many Missourians as possible.
